In the story what my son taught me about Oscar Pistorius by Cynthia Falardeau was

about what  her 10 years old son name Wyatt taught her about Oscar Pistorius. Wyatt also lost his right hand to amniotic band syndrome. Pistorius competed at the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, is accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend on Valentine's Day. Falardeau was fascinated by him and put him in pedestal. The ideal of a disable man competing with other people was unthinkable because  of his disability and competed in Olympic. She thought Oscar Pistorius will create awareness for athletes with physical disability and he will be a great role model for her son and many like him.  However her son reminded her that Oscar Pistorium is just a man. Even then her 10 years old son had the ability to see Oscar Pistorium as a man. According to this article Falardeau learned we put people in pedestal and see them fail. The listen from this article is regardless some people great abilities and gifts at the end they also have challenges  like everyone else.

While searching for this week blog topic I came across this wonderful article title

"Why abused women stay in bad relationships" in CNN by Leslie Morgan Steiner. Mrs. Steiner is a Washington, D.C, native, who also on the advisory boards of the DC volunteer Lawyers Project, The One Love Foundation and the National Domestic Violence Hotline. She is also the author of the memoir " Crazy Love."

Mrs. Steiner was a formal domestic violent victim who stayed with her abusive husband hoping to change him. Mrs. Steiner state that  domestic violence happens to both men and women however, 80% of the time men are the abuser. She also said domestic violent happens to every race, religion, class and educational back ground. She stressed that we do not know who we fall in love with and we never thing the man that loves us also want to hurt us. Once a woman find herself in abusive relationship most of the time she will stay with the abuser because she do not know what to do and where to go. The main reason why victim don't want to leave is because she is scared of the outcome once she leave the abuser. Once the victim decided to leave the abuser the number one request is shelter for the safety of herself and the safety of her children. The second most request is legal advice and representation to get restraining order and to start divorce proceedings. Mrs. Steiner suggested that the way to over come domestic violence is to talk about and bring it to light so everyone is aware domestic violent exist in every race and religion etc. Family and friend need to help victim because that is the only way out of this situation.

As I was reading this article the one thing that strike me was even woman as strong and highly educated Leslie Morgan Steiner get abused. One thing I learned from this article is we all need to pay attention for those clue and help those women or anyone who is in that situation. I am not quite sure the resources and networks out there to help victim. I think it is great ideal to talk about it and bring this topic to light so whenever woman or man find him/ herself in the situation they will know where to go and who to contact.

Hello Everyone,

I came across this article when I was reading BBC new. I think the article is very interesting but also wish it has more information because I am very passionate about this topic

Traffic fumes linked to lower birth weight

Environmental Health Perspective conducted a study of three million births in nine nations to observe the coalition of air pollution and lower birth weight. According to this study  air pollution causes lower birth weight. Babes who are born with lower birth weight tent to have heath problem and sometime even death. The study concluded that the higher the exposure to polluted air, the higher the risk of babes been born with lower birth weight. Different scientist believe differently about this issues however all of them agree that if the mother exposed to polluted air in higher dose, the higher the risk of babes born with health problem. Since we are all exposed to air pollution in one form or another, mothers should not be too concern about their babes health.

This study concluded that all of us are exposed to air  pollution and air pollution is not too harmful in lower exposure dose. However it is worth to pay more attention to this issue and do something about it to reduce or eliminate air pollution.

Response

This research is very interesting and mind opening because I work in the industry where we talk about air pollution and the affect of air pollution in manufacturing setting. It is vital in manufacturing or any industrial setting to understanding the regulation and to be sure to comply with the regulations. Also we hear in the news and in political discussion about air pollution and global warming. I believe we all have responsibility to contribute to the air we breath especially for those unborn babes. I think it will be better if the public is more aware and more knowledgeable to make better decision.

Bad Grammar

Grammar is very important for every job. Commutation is a form of expressing thoughts and feelings. Therefore, in order to communicate well you have to project that in writing in a clear and precise manner. Since this is a writing based company, grammar is vital part of the business. That means the person who is seeking for a job with this organization have to be very good with grammar and prove it by taking a test. If he/she is not good with grammar, he/she will not be getting a job with this company. The author also point out that people who are good with grammar are also good with other jobs such as coding because those people tend to pay attention to details.
